Two weeks on....

Phew!! so, it has been two weeks since we re-launched Natasha James, and we have been really busy.

For the last few months, Erin has been researching and experimenting with face oils, and in the last few weeks she has refined her recipes so that we are almost ready to launch these. We have designed these so that whatever your skin type we will have one suitable for you. We will be giving a lot more information on face oils, what they can be used for, and how to use them when we launch them. We are really excited about this new product. We have also been looking at other additions to our product range – more later – but have made some exciting decisions about how to move forward. Make sure that you keep your eyes open and be the first to hear about these.....

We have also been reviewing and updating our website, our facebook page and our blog, and ensuring that all information is current. We are going to be updating all three sites regularly, to ensure that however you follow us, you have our most up to date information. We have posted a couple of adverts on facebook, one about the relaunch, and one about our Mothers Day gift packs, so let us know if these have reached you.

As ever, let us know your feedback. If there is something that you would like to see or hear from us, let us know, and we will add it to our list of topics to research and blog about. We want to ensure that you are getting what you want from us, so your feedback is essential!

Take care,
More soon

WHY WE USE CLAY......

I use French clays in my products for their great rejuvenating, healing, cleansing, exfoliating and smoothing effects they have on the skin. As well as taking away impurities it adds much needed minerals for healthy looking skin.

There are five types of French clay which are defined by colour and each colour has standout properties and recommendations. This is how I decide on which colour to use in which product.

GREEN clay has the most drawing and detoxifying properties. It is ideal for deep cleansing and exfoliating congested skin clearing and healing acne prone skin. It works by drawing out impurities leaving skin clear and fresh looking, refines pores, smooths and deeply moisturises.

YELLOW clay is indicated for very sensitive skin. It’s healing and deep cleansing properties make it ideal for eczema and psoriasis for children or adults. And it’s so gentle it can be used in products for healing nappy rash or any dry skin conditions baby might have.

PINK clay is slightly less drawing properties than green clay and is highly recommended for mature skin. It’s indicated for cell renewal and therefore great for sun damaged skin conditions, broken capillaries and improving elasticity of the skin. It’s a great additive to body butters for very dry skin.

RED clay has very similar properties to PINK clay. It’s recommended for cell renewal and healing damaged skin due to sun damage etc.

WHITE clay is the most gentle with regard to drawing properties. It’s more moisturising and balancing. It’s a great choice for dry or combination skin and gentle enough to use on elderly skin which can become very dry. I use white clay in body scrubs to moisturise and soften the skin.

Prepare yourself for Winter Skin

Skin is drier in winter as there is less moisture in the air. So without the humidity of the warmer months skin dries out very quickly. We are also often sitting in heated rooms that draw the moisture out of the air and our skin. So use an organic body lotion to prevent scaly dry skin. It will add moisture and prevent moisture loss over the day. Apply after a shower before to re-hydrate your skin over night. If you already have very dry skin, use a body butter. They are heavier and absorb over a longer period of time. As they sit on your skin for longer, they leave a sheen on your skin which makes your skin look lovely and shiny. I used to have worse breakouts in winter as my skin became very dry along the jaw line and neck. My organic face moisturisers are great to maintain moisture to prevent breakouts. They are heavy enough for winter but wont leave your face greasy and shiny.

Official Website On The Way!!!!

This is a very exciting time for me and my business. The process of having my website built has begun! Sales for my products continue to grow and the repeat business from all my clients is the best compliment I could receive. So thank you to all!!! About 5 or maybe 6 years ago I first had the idea for this business, made to order aromatherapy products. To utilise the power of essential oils for more than just oil burners and in massage oil. (Which are all great uses by the way :)) So I began the process then. I had to go back to college and become and aromatherapist, create a business plan. I had to source packaging which would suit my purpose. Essential oils have to be contained in a certain type of plastic which luckily is also recyclable. And I wanted all my suppliers and supplies where possible to be Australian made and owned. A lot of essential oils are imported but the company I source them from is Australian. I needed labels, and waterproof labels at that. I had to research labelling laws which was so much fun..... I needed a logo, business cards, brochures..... Hours and hours were spent on proofing labels and artwork and all my printing. Comparing quotes on packaging and courier companies. To the point my son, who at this stage of the process was about 18 months old, would see me open my laptop and launch himself at me saying "NONONONONO"! Laptop meant meant my attention was elsewhere. But it was for a greater good. My main motivation was to provide a better life for both of us and doing a job I love at the same time. I then set myself a goal of reaching out to a certain number of clients and having a certain level of repeat business to affirm to myself the business was viable and not just a great idea in theory. I love getting emails from my clients thanking me for their products and ordering more for themselves and for gifts. It really is becoming a dream come true. The ultimate goal was to have my website built, which as I mentioned is underway! So a whole new set of challenges are presenting themselves. Deciding on content is harder than you think! I look at what I've achieved to date and the satisfaction that follows and it gives me all the motivation I need to put in the long hours and hard work to follow it though. But a huge thank you to my parents who apart from lending me the capital to get this far have given me a far greater gift. And that is a ridiculous amount of support and encouragement. They are my biggest fans, so THANK YOU! xxxxx
